Hamstead Farm Cottage offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a unique, cosy eco-cottage on a farm in Underberg. This 2-bedroom cottage works with solar and wind power and has a mezzanine. It is on the same site as the main house and offers a beautiful view of the Southern Drakensberg. Hamstead Farm Cottage is the peaceful getaway that individuals, groups, and families are looking for.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps 5 guests. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a single bed and a double bed. There are shower facilities. The cottage also has a kitchen, lounge area and a dining area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, oven and stove and there is a wood-burning stove with a glass front in the living area to create a cosy atmosphere on winter evenings. The cottage has a DVD player, Wi-Fi transmitter (guests must bring their own data) and portable braai facilities. The cottage uses wind and solar power, so equipment with elements is not allowed.
The cottage is only 20 km from Underberg via a dirt road. Guests can hear the howl of a fox at night, or the call of an owl or night owl, and during the day guests may spot an elk or antelope on the hill next to the premises. The cottage offers a wide view over the field to the small mountain and further to the larger, southern mountain.
The cottage is pet-friendly, but only by arrangement and they are not allowed on the beds or furniture. There is a fenced area and if pets are not in that area they must be on leads.
There are 2 horses, 2 dogs and cattle living on the premises.
